Year in Review: Reflection on 2011

Nearly 12 months ago, I sat in my bedroom and quickly jotted out a list of 6 resolutions I wanted to achieve in the upcoming year. In the hopes of continuing this blog, which I oh-so-often neglect, I thought a reflection of those goals would be a great jumpstart for such writing. Let’s see how this year turned out.
1. Time to Graduate! – Check! Bingo! Done! The University of St. Thomas somehow let me graduate…in all seriousness, I am glad to be done with that chapter in my life, though I undoubtedly miss the relationships and friends that I had made during my four years there. So if you’re a Tommie friend of mine – know that you are missed and loved!
2. Time for Rebranding! – Ha, sort of complete… If you consider changing one’s website around half a million times in the course of a year, then yes, I did rebrand. However, I’ve come to the realization that I really want this site to remain as a blog with perhaps a link to a creative portfolio when I get around to that…
3. Time to be Certified! - 50% completed. I did finish the SEO Copywriting certification, as you may see the badge on my blog. The Google Analytics IQ test has been a goal to pass, but it is not a priority goal for the future.
4. Time to Travel! – 50% completed. I did not end up traveling as much as I had hoped but was pleased with the traveling that did occur during the first six months of the year. I incredibly enjoyed visiting my friend for his senior recital in March and had the trip of a lifetime with the UST Liturgical Choir in Eastern Europe, and a smaller voyage with some friends to London. I cannot wait to travel more in the near future. Chicago is looking pretty good at this moment…
5. Time to Lose! – utter fail! No need for details on this one. I failed miserably. But for every time I get kicked off the horse, it’s just as important to get right back on. And so the journey continues…
6. Time to Love! – 100% completed! I had joked in this resolution that it would be cool to meet someone worth falling in love with, but the main goal was to find and love myself. In a strange, but great turn of events, both came true. At this point I don’t wish to elaborate much on either, but I’ll save that all for another day.
In a future post (sometime this month, I hope), I’ll outline my 2012 goals, but if you have any ideas or goals that you would like to share, I’d love to hear them!
